Japigia1Verga is a Comprehensive Institute including three different schools: “San Francesco school” counts 14 classes of primary school and 4 classes of kindergarten; “Don Orione school” has 13 classes of primary school and 3 classes of kindergarten; “Verga school” provides lower secondary education and counts 19 classes. Furthermore, in each school, there are several laboratories, a library and a theatre.
Each year the students attending the institute are more than 1000. Both the kindergartens and the primary schools follow the “No Schoolbag” model, while the secondary school is organized in learning environments, one for each subject.
The Institute have a valuable experience in Educational robotics and artificial intelligence education. Thanks to the above mentioned experience, the Institute had the chance of planning the Italian national final RoboCupJunior competition in 2016, the first school of the first cycle of education in Italy involved in this kind of event.
